My practice offers outpatient therapy services to children, teens, families and individual adults. I have been in clinical practice for fourteen years in a variety of non-profit and group practice settings. I am a member of the Texas Association for Play Therapy and the Texas Counselor's Association. I am currently a student in the Advanced Training Program for Somatic Transformation, a body centered approach to trauma. You can find out more about this here: www.somatictransformation.com
I enjoy working with individual adults, teens and children struggling with PTSD and trauma, anxiety disorders, and depression. I also have specialized training and experience working with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disorders. I utilize more traditional forms of talk therapy as well as somatic psychotherapy called Somatic Transformation, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy to create a more holistic approach to healing.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, I am able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and the joy you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing. I have been trained in using Somatic Transformation. Using the subtle cues of the body to inform, I teach my clients how to regulate strong emotions as well as create feelings of calm necessary to heal from traumatic events.
Play therapy uses the child's instinctive way of expressing emotions and conflicts. Through the mode of play, children can both express emotions as well as learn skills to address problemsolving, reduce emotional or behavioral disturbances and create stronger bonds with their family.
